Do relax? Yes, easier said than done, the more relaxed you are the easier it will be to remove the hair, and the less pain it will cause. Take a deep breath and exhale into relaxation as the wax and hair are removed.
Q: Can I book a wax and have a massage right after? A: Yes, this type of treatment is popular and we've adapted a massage technique to suit.
Q: How should I prepare for my waxing? A: The best way to prepare for a waxing is to exfoliate before your waxing treatment. Exfoliate the night before or the morning of your waxing, this will aid in opening the hair follicles and will make the removal of the hair a little easier.
*Other tips I received from a friend; if you are sensitive to pain and or are getting a Bikini or Brazilian Waxing.
- *Take Motrin or Tylenol one hour before your appointment.
- *Take about 4 Tums (the antacid) about 3 hours before your appointment, It alters the alkaline in your system and therefore reducing the pain.
*This is only a tip that was passed on to me not a cure for pain.
Q: Do you make waxing out calls? A: Unfortunately no, we risk spillage during transportation, which is a costly and messy affair.
Q: Can I tan after waxing? A: Definitely not, you should avoid heat following a wax treatment. Wait 2 to 3 days before any type of tanning, spray, sun and or other. After wax lotion will create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution. Ideally you should leave the after wax lotion on.
Q: How should I care for the skin after waxing? A: After waxing it is recommended that you wait 12 to 24 hours before hot baths, abrasives and deodorant. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate the skin 12 hours after waxing. This will keep your pours open, clean and will aid against ingrown hairs if any. We can't emphasize the exfoliating enough, also exfoliate and moisturize your skin for the next week or so.
Q: If I get a Brazilian, will it increase sensitivity? A: Yes, dramatically. The difference is amazing.
Q: I'm worried about getting aroused during my Brazilian or Bikini waxing? A: Don't stress, a degree of arousal is common when someone is working in the groin area, be it a doctor, a nurse or a waxing specialist. It has little to do with arousal and more to do with adrenaline. In any case, once the waxing treatment begins, the sensation quickly passes. The only thing you need to focus on is felling comfortable with yourself, and that includes not beating yourself up for a reaction that is perfectly natural.
